St. Anne's Convent Gajendragada

It was at the behest of Rt. Rev. Peter Machado, the bishop of Belgaum, who constantly requested us to take up a mission station in his diocese, the thought of Gada Mission emerged. He often lauded our presence in his diocese at two places namely, Bagalkot and Haveri but hinted that we must move to the interior stations. He in fact proposed a place called Saundatthi. Though the sisters visited this place, they were not happy due to many reasons. Finally Bishop proposed Gajendragada. Bishop sent a formal invitation with the norms and conditions and his expectation from the sisters. The terms and conditions were accepted by the new government head by Sr. Arul Mary. A rented house was taken for the residence as well to commence the nursery class. The house was inaugurated on 23rd May 2014 by most Rt. Rev. Peter Machado, bishop of Belgaum and 8 priests from the deanery. The pioneers of this community were Sr. Fathima Rajam (Superior), Sr. Nirmala and Sr. Christina.
