St. Anne's Convent Chintamani

The extension of the service of our sisters at Chintamani was an historical event. Chintamani means land of stones. St. Anne’s New Public School is surrounded with unbreakable valuable stones. There was a proposal from a Hindu lady at Chintamani in Chikkaballapur district which is about 6 km away from the  parish church, of full pledged education institution from Nursery to PUC with all needed permission and approval from the Education Department. It has about 2 acres of land and well furnished building. The entire property was owned by a single Hindu family. After the death of the husband, the wife was unable to manage the institution further. She came in contact with the Provincial & team through one of her Christian friends. She expressed her inability to run the institution and her desire to hand it over a Christian association. Those days the Provincial and team didn’t show much interest as they were not able to meet the requirements of the time such as finance and personnel’s. The woman continued praying and persuaded the authorities to yield to her request. After a few months of silence again she started to contact the sisters. So the Provincial Superior Sr. Arulmary along with her team visited the place a couple of times and studied the surroundings. Finally with the consent of our Archbishop Bernard Mores, Superior General Rev. Sr. Shanthi & team, registration was done on 15th April 2014. From May 20th 2014 onwards the first batch of sisters Mary Jacob, Sr. Sangeetha, Sr. Veronica & Sr. JyothiPriya began to stay in the school building itself. Besides imparting education they also actively participate in all the pastoral works of the Church.
