St. Anne's Convent Haveri

Rt. Rev. Bernard Moras, the Bishop of Belgaum invited our sisters to start a convent at Haveri. It is the District Head Quarters, a fast growing town, which is on the National Highway. The enthusiastic Bishop wanted Christian presence in the locality. After much prayer and reflection the Congregation decided to have a new foundation at Haveri. Sisters found it difficult in the beginning as there was no Christian atmosphere. But the Spirit of the Lord urged us to be carriers of the Good News in that town. Thus, Mother Angela Merci the Superior General directed Mother Margaret Mary to take up this mission. A suitable house was taken for rent, from where the sisters could reach out to the people. The same was blessed and opened on 16th July, 1998 on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The pioneers of this community were Srs. Sherly, Ancel and Shwetha. By visiting the families in the neighbourhood, they were able to get three students initially. Gradually the number of students increased and today it has grown becoming one of the best schools in the district. This institution has grown from nursery up to PUC. Besides this, ICSE school is also opened for the needy.
