St. Anne's Convent Kanakapura (Bangalore Zone)

With the request of the Archbishop of Bangalore, Rev. Sr. Shanthi took initiative to respond to his request and in 2017 and planned to help in the mission of Teaching and Pastoral work in St. Rita’s Parish at Kanakapura. After a couple of visits to the place by the Authorities and finding out the facilities, the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Gregory Mariappa was asked to make the necessary arrangements for the Sisters to stay. Within a short time a beautiful building which was constructed for the Hostel Children in the School Campus was converted into a convent and made all needed arrangements for the sisters to stay. At its initial stage Rev. Sr. Shanthi our superior general agreed to send three sisters from the Generalate to this community. On 2nd June 2017 the new community at Kanakapura started, Srs. Irene, Arogya Mary.M and Martha Sandanam are the pioneers of this community. Sr. Arulmary the provincial superior and Sr. Alphonse John the assistant Provincial superior and Sr. Lilly peter went ahead of them and made the remaining arrangements welcomed the new members. Rev. Fr. Mariappa reached the place with all enthusiasm and happiness to have a initial blessings of the place for the sisters to stay. The house was blessed and the sisters started their stay over there. The official blessing and installation of the Blessed Sacrament will be little late. The convent building is very close to the Parish Church. Sr. Irene is Superior of the Community and Sr. Arogya Mary M is in-Charge of the English Medium High School and the PUC sections and Sr. Martha in-charge of the English Primary School and they also have to do the pastoral work in the parish.
